It was so cold and windy during this session, but you'd never know based on how happy this little girl was. She literally smiled non-stop the entire time we were walking around Old Mill Park.
The cold weather gave us the excuse to take a lot of snuggly pictures and pull out the mouse hat... which is the cutest thing you've ever seen.
It is with very mixed emotions that I make this announcement... The time to say goodbye to Washington is quickly approaching.
As you know, the name "Following Seas" is a nod to my husband's Naval career. Our tour in WA is coming to an end this spring which means saying goodbye to all of my wonderful clients-turned-friends.
I'm going to save all of the sappy stuff for later and I'll put out more information as we make more concrete plans.
"Fair Winds and Following Seas" is a nautical phrase of good luck or blessing as a person departs on a voyage in life.
We've got to practice our y'all-ing, introduce Landon to sweet tea and get our pale, PNW skin some sun because we're moving to Charleston, SC this spring. WoooHoooooooo! If you need me, I'll be mentally decorating my new house and deciding which swimsuit I'm going to wear to the beach first.
Sometimes I don't know what to say other than.... she was so cute, squishy, sweet, cuddly and I didn't want her session to end! She was such a peaceful little girl surrounded with love. And she totally rocked peach and cream.
I photographed this sweet family over the summer down at Fountain Park. This time, we got back together for a cozy fall session at Scenic Beach.
I love getting to work with friends. They are so natural in front of the camera and with these two cute boys - extra cuddly!
We took our time, letting big brother splash in the water and look for crabs. Scenic Beach State Park in Seabeck, WA is a little boy's paradise and a photographer's dream location.

First birthday cake smashes are some of my favorite sessions. Watching a baby enjoy a cake with no rules is the best! Icing smeared from ear to ear. Fingers and toes covered. Swoon!
You can imagine how excited I was for my son to turn one. I had everything planned out. It was going to be great. He was going to go crazy. Probably even stick his face in the cake. Did that happen? No. Not even close. Even though I created a beautiful (and funny) gallery, I'll always remember his look of disgust.
One day Landon was eating a special treat - a powdered donut. I should clarify. By eating, I mean going to town. That's when the light bulb went off. I should totally do a donut smash. And when your mommy is a photographer, you have a donut smash the next day!
I couldn't be more thrilled with how these turned out!

I like to have clothing options in my "pretty closet" for my clients. I'm a momma to a boy so I am a sucker for the chance to buy a beautiful dress. When I saw this little ivory lace dress online, I quickly added it to my cart without a second thought. I couldn't be happier with the way it photographs. Cake smashes are quickly becoming one of my favorite types of sessions. I love the creative freedom of designing a colorful set. This session was extra special because it was for MY little man. I decided to go with a nautical theme. I was going to do whales, but saw a sailboat cake on Pinterest and was sold.
Landon didn't actually enjoy the cake as much as I'd hoped, but I was able to create a gallery that I love.
Jameson had to be the sweetest, most peaceful baby I've ever met. With three big sisters and an adoring mommy and daddy, there is no shortage of love for this little guy.
