Aloha! I’m Ashleigh Lauber. I’m a sucker for newborn yawns, toddler snuggles and lost-tooth smiles. If I’ve learned anything since becoming a mom it is that time moves too fast and babies don’t keep. It is my goal to give you images that instantly bring you back to that period of time with your family.
About my business.
I fell into the world of photography by chance. It was a cross-country move that warranted a "big camera" and the request of a friend that threw me into the world of family photography. I kept my day-job (HR) and operated as Ashleigh Lauber Photography on the weekends.
When I became pregnant with my son in 2013, documenting my pregnancy was very important to me. Before I knew it, he was turning one. It was his first year that inspired me to live my dream and become a full time photographer. I rebranded as Following Seas Photography and decided to focus on that fleeting season of life - the time from bump to birthday.
MY STYLE.
My style is simple, authentic photography. While I do take everyone-look-at-the-camera-and-smile pictures, I go crazy for mom snuggles and laughing kids. I like to keep my work timeless and clean. I prefer moments as they are - not what photoshop could make them.
FOLLOWING SEAS.
"Fair Winds and Following Seas" is a nautical phrase of good luck or blessing as a person departs on a voyage in life. It is often used at a "beginning" ceremony such as a commissioning of a ship.
My Family.
I've been married to my husband for 12 years. We have two boys - a talkative ten year old and a crazy six year old. My boys look so much alike... I’m often asked if they are twins! We have made homes in South Carolina (twice), New York, Washington and Hawaii.
