Americana Popsicle Session | Charleston Family Photographer

Want to know something really funny and SO #momlife? I wrote this blog post June 2016 and never published it. My baby is all grown and the field is full of houses, but there is no better time than the present to hit publish! Goodness gracious, y'all!

This session was a combination of two ideas. Remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned a field? This field is actually just a few cleared lots in the back of our neighborhood. Every day when I drove past it I just knew it was perfect for pictures. For weeks, I tried to take Landon out there but something always seemed to come up - a thunderstorm, a melt down...

At the same time, I had also wanted to take pictures of Landon eating ice cream or a popsicle. I mean, is there anything cuter (or more terrifying) than watching a toddler eat a treat? The only thing I couldn't figure out was how do I keep a popsicle cold in the crazy South Carolina heat?

BINGO! I'll take Landon out to the field!

And I kid you not. TWO days later they poured foundations, so my field is no more.

She wouldn't have anything to do with me when we first started the session. By the end, I got this. One of my favorite pictures to date.

I can't wait to go through more of these pictures, but here is a quick look at little Miss L. She is the light of her parent's world and she was so good to me this morning.

Pam was one of the first people I met in Washington. We instantly hit it off because, even though we met on the opposite side of the country, we grew up about 20 minutes apart in Georgia. I'm pretty sure we were friends from that day on. The Navy has a way of doing that. We've endured deployments and celebrated homecomings. We've run many miles and races together, prayed together, and just did life together. We were thrilled to get orders to Charleston, the town where they had also moved.

And now we get to celebrate with them because they are adding a little girl to their family! With Pam's sweet, compassionate spirit and Kyle's calm, patient soul, this baby is going to have two of the most amazing parents!

It was a warm evening in downtown Charleston, but Hampton Park was so good to us. Although it had rained for days prior, the sun was shining and the flowers were in full bloom.

I know I speak for everyone when I say that I cannot wait to meet this little girl! I hope she knows how much she was prayed for and how many people already love her.

Baby at the Beach | Folly Beach, South Carolina

This particular morning at Folly Beach was pretty amazing. It was overcast which gave the beach a smooth, pastel look. Baby P was a trooper despite cutting several teeth and she really came out of her shell once we let her enjoy some freedom. Eating sand and crawling all over the beach - a perfect morning for this sweet thing.

Want to book a beach session for your little? Don't wait! They're only this little once. Email me: ashleigh@followingseasphotography.com so we can start planning!

River Family Session | Columbia, South Carolina | Columbia Family Photographer

Trip and I drove up to Columbia from Charleston to photograph his Aunt's family last weekend. It hadn't rained in Columbia in forever, but, as fate would have it, a huge thunderstorm threatened our session. We moved the meeting time up and hoped for the best. In true southern fashion, it was HOT and sunny. As we wrapped up on the bridge the thunder started rolling in the distance. By the time we pulled out of the parking lot it was a down pour. Talk about good luck!

The last series of pictures with the sisters will always make me laugh. We had to get creative to make sure pokemon go-ers weren't in the frame and I did end up having to photoshop a few out. Apparently there is a gym on this paved trail. That was a first for me.

Following Seas Photography is available to travel to Columbia, SC for maternity, lifestyle newborn, outdoor milestone and family picture sessions. Please contact me today to discuss your session.
