Your Christmas Picture Checklist

If you're anything like me, you've been thinking about Christmas for weeks. There is always so much going on and I don't want to get to the end of the day and realize I didn't get any of the pictures that are living in my head. So, I made a list of pictures I know I want to get and I thought I would share it with you. The more organized you are, the less time you'll have to spend taking pictures and the more time you can spend enjoying the day!

Family Session in Port Gamble, WA | Bremerton Family Photographer

It was the most perfect fall day in Port Gamble, WA. The trees were orange, the sky was light blue and the sidewalk was speckled with fallen leaves. I started photographing this sweet family when they were anxiously awaiting their little boy. It's been so fun to watch them blossom into parents and photograph this season of life. Guys, they make parenthood look pretty darn easy!

Family Session at Old Mill Park | Bremerton Family Photographer

When I first started out, Old Mill Park in Silverdale was my go-to location. There are so many hidden spots and I always seem to find a new little place. I hadn't been there in a while, so when Baby E's mom picked Old Mill Park I knew his birthday session would be a good one! This kid was so happy and loved to snuggle with his dad.  And that box... he was obsessed!

Family Session at Faye Bainbridge Park | Bainbridge Island, WA

When I got an email from a friend who has since moved about a quick family session while they were back visiting, I was thrilled. We decided to meet at Faye Bainbridge Park in Bainbridge Island to enjoy the warm sunshine and ocean breeze.

First Birthday Pictures in Bremerton, WA

Turning One is so much fun! I meet up with this one year old at Evergreen Park in Bremerton, WA for a quick and fun first birthday session.

When I say "quick" I mean QUICK! This boy kicked his shoes off and never stopped. I couldn't get over how good he could walk. He made me work for it, but I think I've got some pictures that capture baby H at 1 years old.

Family Session in Silverdale, Washington

This is the blog post I didn't want to write. You see, this is a blog post for the session Pam always said she and Kyle needed to do before they left Washington. We did the session earlier this week so you know what that means.

I first met Pam at a 1 year old's birthday party a few months after we moved to Bremerton, WA. Our meeting was a little like fate because neither of us even had kids - we were both friends of the mom. We got to talking and we quickly realized we were both from the east coast, then both from Georgia and then from the same county. In fact, we grew up just miles apart. Crazy, right?!?

In the years since that first meeting, Kyle and Pam have become some of our closest friends. They are two of the kindest people you'll ever meet. They love on people and their love for each other shines.

The time has come for Kyle to hang up his cover and stay on dry land for a long while. I know they've been waiting for this day for a long time. While I'm so sad to see them go, I cannot wait to watch this next season of life unfold for them.

Mommy & Me | Family Photography | Bremerton, WA

I love Mommy and Me sessions because mom is usually behind the camera. There is just something magical about watching a mom play with her children. Their little eyes light up and hearing giggles... sigh. Childhood is so fleeting.

You might recognize this family from their maternity family session last fall. I was so happy they came back for a Mommy & Me Session.

Mom picked the location - a local park with amazing views if you're willing to drive a zig-zag road down to the water. I must say, it was quiet worth it! As soon as I made it to the parking lot, I spotted this little patch of grass where the sun was sparkling through the trees. After we spent a few minutes making wishes in the grass, we headed toward the water to see "the powerful waves." The tide was too high to go down to the water which was a bummer because we couldn't walk around the bend to see Mt. Rainier. The girls did have fun climbing on the rails of the pier. Little Miss A was so careful to put her clip on her dress for safe keeping and was devastated  when her clip fell off her dress into the water. Poor little thing was so upset. After A and her mom had a moment to discuss the fish with a beautiful clip on her head, A was back to her crazy self in no time. Don't you just love 4 year olds?

Thank you for allowing me to be your family and maternity photographer in Bremerton, WA.

Miss E | 6 Month Milestone Session | Bremerton, WA

I've had the honor of photographing this gal several times! I'm good friends with her mommy so I first did her maternity session, then her newborn session and now a 6 month milestone session. Isn't she to die for?
